Green Bay Packers: Evan Williams Happy for Cornerback Who Had an Outstanding Performance in…

Evan Williams is among the players who are locked in their position and expected to be announced as part of the final Green Bay Packers roster. There’s another player he thought stood out in the last pre-season and should make a good case to make it to the final list.

The Packers will announce their 53-man roster on Tuesday and while there are number of players who got themselves locked in a spot for themselves. The others took their chance in the pre-season game and one of those who might have a good case is cornerback Kamal Hadden.

Hadden, who joined the team last season but never got to play a game, showed out in three pre-season games they played. He stood out especially in the last one against the Seattle Seawhawks and Williams is happy that his teammate is getting the attention of observers.

“It’s always good when a brother shows off what he’s capable of. And today was his day. Things we see that you guys don’t see, just the work ethic that he comes with every day, his competitive nature, just who he is,” Williams told reporters after the game.

“I mean, it’s not going to be the front page of a story somewhere, but you get a guy like that that is so primed just for an opportunity and then they go out there and ball out, like all of us had been seeing, I’m just happy for him.”

Evan Williams on how different this season is

Williams himself is happy with his preparations for the 2025 season, too. He stepped up big time with Xavier McKinney out in the training camp and he is ready to rock for the football calendar.

He also thought that he is healthier heading to the opening week compared to 2024.

“I just have a peace that comes over me in those big situations,” he said last week.

“We call it technique time, those two-minute situations when you’ve got to be on your Ps and Qs. I don’t feel that same uptightness or little stress (as last year).

“I’m just poised, able to see the whole field, and just ready to do my job.”

Williams is expected to be named as the top two safety in Packers roster. Other guys vying for the position are Javon Bullard, Zayne Anderson, and Kitan Oladapo.
