Green Bay Packers: Fans React to Historic Player Who’ll Play Alongside Jordan Love

The Green Bay Packers have a new addition to their offensive line depth, with the team acquiring offensive lineman Darian Kinnard via a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles. The trade was reported on Sunday by Adam Schefter, who posted the following news on social media.

“A hat trick of trades today for the Eagles: Philadelphia now is acquiring a 2027 sixth-round pick from the Green Bay Packers in exchange for offensive tackle Darian Kennard, per sources. It is the third Eagles trade today, and the second involving an OT. The Eagles also traded for OT Fred Johnson, then traded Kinnard, who already is a three-time Super-Bowl champion at age 25.”

It was an intriguing move for a number of reasons. For one, the Packers swung for that trade before Tuesday’s final roster cut. Kinnard, who is a product of the Kentucky Wildcats football program, is also entering the final year of his current deal. He is due to earn $1.03 million in the 2025 NFL season.

It’s unclear at the moment whether the Packers have plans of signing the 25-year-old Kinnard to an extension, but for what it’s worth, those who believe in luck might like the chances of Green Bay winning the Super Bowl in the coming season even more.

Kinnard has won a Super Bowl in each of the last three NFL seasons. He won the Vince Lombardi Trophy twice in back-to-back fashion with the Kansas City Chiefs and was part of the Philadelphia Eagles team that dashed the dreams of Patrick Mahomes and company to win three Super Bowl titles in a row.

Kinnard is just one of two players in the history of the NFL to win that many Super Bowls consecutively.

Via Schefter:

Darian Kinnard is one of only two players along with Ken Norton Jr. to win three consecutive Super Bowls. Kinnard won Super Bowls LVII and LVIII as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs, then Super Bowl LIX as a member of the Eagles. Now he will attempt to four-peat with the Packers, as he brings them the ability to play guard or tackle.

Over at Reddit, fans buzzed with reactions over the Packers-Eagles trade that not many saw coming.

“25 year old Tackle but can play Guard. He is the 2nd player in NFL history to win 3 Super Bowls in a row (2x KC, 1x PHI). Good depth signing.”

“How about 4 😎”

“Guaranteed Super Bowl win”

“Not bad depth, outside of Morgan and Belton our depth on oline is looking rough.”

“Nice trade, needed this one.”

“Good move. The Packers don’t have much depth on the offensive line right now. Even acquiring one offensive lineman will go a long way for us this season.”

Kinnard started his NFL career in 2022, when he was taken in the fifth round of that year’s NFL draft by the Chiefs.
