Newcastle United have one week to finalise their summer transfer business. Eddie Howe's side have spent in excess of £125million on five players but still haven't signed a centre forward.

That is anticipated to be their main focus for the final seven days of the window, with the Magpies still chasing a deal for Brentford's Yoane Wissa, while Jorgen Strand Larsen of Wolves and Atletico Madrid's Alexander Sorloth are among the others that have been linked with a move to St James' Park.

Meanwhile, Alexander Isak's future is still uncertain. The 25-year-old is adamant he has played his final game for Newcastle and is determined to force through a big-money move to Liverpool.

Isak won't be involved during Monday's game against Arne Slot's Reds on Tyneside - a game that is set to be a mouth-watering once given the speculation around the Sweden international.

Here, Chronicle Live has taken a look at the latest transfer news from Newcastle...

Kolo Muani option

Newcastle United striker hunt is taking the club far and wide, with PSG's Randal Kolo Muani now said to be an option. Tuttosport claims Juventus are still leading the race to sign the France international, after he spent the second half of the 2024/25 campaign at the Serie A side.

But the Magpies are also mentioned in the last report, with the forward said to be 'forgoing rich options' like Eddie Howe's side and an unnamed Saudi club. The player's preference remains Juve, after scoring 10 times in 22 appearances there last season, but Newcastle are still monitoring talks.

Chronicle Live says: I am not sure that Kolo Muani is the long-term answer for Newcastle, but he could be a real astute cost-effective loan option if PSG are prepared to let him go on a temporary deal. It's safe to say the Magpies NEED to get at least two more strikers through the door if Alexander Isak leaves.

Kolo Muani's record, apart from a prolific 2022/23 campaign at Eintracht Frankfurt, isn't the greatest but he has a knack of coming up with another goal or two - something Newcastle might need this season.

Osula transfer twist

William Osula could now be set to remain at Newcastle United despite reported transfer interest from Bayer Leverkusen. Erik ten Hag's side are said to be interested in the Denmark Under 21s international as a replacement for Victor Boniface, who looked on course to make the move to AC Milan.

However, Boniface's proposed switch to San Siro is in doubt. Fabrizio Romano has reported that Boniface has returned to Germany after a medical with Milan, but the deal is yet to be given the go-ahead. Concerns over Boniface’s recent knee problems appear to be the issue, which sees the deal on the brink of collapse.

Chronicle Live says: Osula's move to Leverkusen might not go ahead now that Boniface's move to Milan is in jeopardy and that might not be the worst outcome for Newcastle. I think that the 22-year-old needs a loan to another English club, such as a high end Championship side, rather than one in Europe.

Leicester City are in desperate need for a new striker with Jordan Ayew leading the line during Saturday's win at Charlton Athletic and he could be perfect for Marti Cifuentes' side. Osula has a lot of potential and he could be a real asset for Newcastle in the future, but he needs consistent game time.
