Marco Silva believes Manchester United's goal against Fulham on Sunday should have been disallowed.

United broke the deadlock in the 58th minute at Craven Cottage when Leny Yoro's header deflected in off Rodrigo Muniz. Yoro tussled with Calvin Bassey before winning the header and Silva believes his defender was fouled in the build-up.

Fulham responded through Emile Smith Rowe in the 73rd minute to secure a point, but Silva expressed his frustration at the VAR's decisions when he spoke to the BBC following the game.

Speaking about the decisions, including the penalty awarded in the first half, Silva said: "I would like to explain everything about the VAR decisions this afternoon, but I can't.

"I can't because they were different in many different ways. They were unbelievable seeing two fouls at the same time, Shaw on Rodrigo and Bassey on Mount at the same time, both fouls, and they saw that Bassey foul was half of a half second before the Shaw foul on Muniz.

"Then the second one [the United goal]. I think what I saw is what everyone saw in the stadium; everyone around the world saw it. Two players were isolated at a corner and one player pushed the other to head the ball. If you go by the rules you know what is going to happen.

"I would like those types of decisions to always be the same. Simple as that."

When asked whether he was pleased with a point, Silva responded: "I'm pleased for the reaction, pleased how we came back in the second half after a goal that should be disallowed.

"Pleased for the way that we finished the game, pleased with the way the players came in and performed and the way that we played against a big team like Manchester United again."

Bassey also reacted, telling the BBC: "For me, it [the push from Yoro] is clear and obvious . He has got two hands in the back and he has created an advantage for himself. If there is no contact, I get up there and fight with him. He has clearly stopped me from getting to the ball. For me, it should clearly be a foul."

United will take on Grimsby next in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
