Jeff Stelling has made a stunning claim about West Ham’s transfer business.
The Hammers have tried to back Graham Potter with the likes of Malick El Hadji Diouf and Mads Hermansen brought in to bolster the squad.
However, West Ham have lost their opening two Premier League matches, conceding a remarkably poor eight goals in the process.
Potter is already under immense sack pressure at the London Stadium, and needs fresh incomings if he is to save his job.

Jeff Stelling makes stunning Jarrod Bowen claim
Stelling and co-host Ally McCoist were discussing West Ham’s dismal start to the season under Potter when the topic of transfer business was raised.

The former Sky Sports host claimed that the Hammers seem to be in a position where they may have to sell stars to buy players, and brought up Jarrod Bowen as an example.
Speaking live on talkSPORT on 25 August (7:24 am), he said: “It seems like they have to sell to buy, but they’ve got virtually no sellable assets.”
McCoist replied, saying: “They’ve sold them, haven’t they?”
Stelling responded, saying: “Paqueta and forgive me, West Ham fans, your other sellable asset is Jarrod Bowen, I know he is under contract until 2030, but it is an impossible situation for the manager and the fans.”
West Ham do not need to sell Jarrod Bowen
Stelling is a very likeable figure in the football world, but he is wrong on this occasion, and the Irons do not need to sell their talisman.
They have already sold Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham for a fee of £55million, and they have got Edson Alvarez off the wage budget after his loan to Fenerbahce was confirmed.
Finance expert Dan Plumley confirmed to West Ham Zone that the E20 outfit are not in danger of breaching Profit and Sustainability regulations this summer.
He explained that while there are still constraints to the Hammers’ business, they are under no pressure to sell their star player.
Losing Bowen would be an absolute disaster on the pitch, as he is the creative spark, and if they are to drag themselves away from a potential relegation battle, they need him to step up once again.
Off the pitch, the impact of selling the 28-year-old would be even worse; supporters would likely riot and the tension would only go up even further.
He needs to be kept around at all costs, and the suggestion is that he will, given that, as Stelling states, he is contracted for another five years.
