Bayern Munich have reportedly considered Arsenal attacking midfielder as one of the targets before the end of the window.
The 25-year-old joined the Gunners in the summer of 2022 from FC Porto, but he failed to establish himself as a regular first-team player under Mikel Arteta.
Vieira is deemed surplus to requirements at the Emirates, and he returned to his old club on loan for the 2024-25 season.
Could Vieira leave Arsenal?
Upon returning to Porto, he rediscovered his old form, scoring five goals and providing six assists in 42 competitive games.
Arteta has a plethora of options in attacking areas, especially after signing Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, and has no plans to bring Vieira back into the fold.
It means the Portuguese midfielder could be sold in the summer, either on loan or permanently.
Stuttgart was linked with a move for Vieira, but Florian Plettenberg has made it clear that it is not a realistic possibility.
Do Bayern have a chance to sign Vieira?
Max Eberl has confirmed that Bayern bosses have told him to focus on loan signings before the end of the window, after failing to strike a deal for Nick Woltemade.
The German champions, who won 6-0 against RB Leipzig in the opening 2025-26 Bundesliga match, desperately need to bolster their attack, and Vieira has emerged as one of their targets.
Bayern have been heavily linked with a move for Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku, but the Blues are only willing to sell him permanently, which means a move for the 27-year-old looks difficult at the moment.
According to a report from Tz.de, Bayern have earmarked several options, including Vieira, Marco Asensio and Jadon Sancho.
A move for Sancho can be ruled out. Christian Falk informed CFBayern that Sancho is not a realistic target for Bayern because of his high wages.
While the Gunners ideally would want to sell Vieira permanently, a loan exit cannot be completely ruled out, which gives Bayern an outside chance to sign him.
