Marc Guehi continues to be heavily linked with a move to Liverpool as Arne Slot hopes to bolster his backline before the summer transfer window slams shut. The Reds only have a week or so to wrap up a deal for the Crystal Palace defender, who's recently entered the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park.
Should the Premier League champions fail to agree a deal with Steve Parish before 7pm on September 1, they can always pick up from where they left off in the new year. However, from January, foreign clubs will be eligible to open talks with Guehi over a free transfer in the summer of 2026.
If the England international doesn't pen an extension, the Eagles will be forced to make a tough call. Crystal Palace must decide whether they'd rather risk losing Guehi for free or cut their losses and cash in.
The Englishman will want guarantees over his playing time, with Thomas Tuchel set to pick his squad for this summer's World Cup. So, with that being said, the ECHO has rounded up everything you need to know about Guehi and a potential transfer to Liverpool.

Liverpool want to sign Guehi
The ECHO understands that Liverpool are interested in signing Guehi. The Reds opened talks with Crystal Palace over a potential deal for the centre-back after the Community Shield earlier this month.
Parish made it clear that he would rather sell Guehi than lose him for free when his contract expires in June 2026. It's understood that the Chelsea academy graduate is keen on a move to Anfield, but there's a disparity in valuations.
The south Londoners are believed to be asking for far more than what Liverpool are prepared to pay for a player who's entered the last 12 months of their deal. The Reds' pursuit could go down to the wire.

Man City join the race for Guehi
According to the Daily Star, Guehi has emerged as a potential target for Manchester City. The report claims that Pep Guardiola's side could make a move for the Crystal Palace captain if they lose Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake ahead of next week's deadline.
It's said that Galatasaray want the former, while Everton have set their sights on the latter. The Daily Star reckons that Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona are also keen on Guehi, who's been priced at £35m.
Glasner worried by Crystal Palace situation
Speaking to BBC Sport ahead of Crystal Palace's clash against Nottingham Forest at the weekend, Oliver Glasner admitted that he's worried the club won't be able to replace the players that have left.

"I am worried about Crystal Palace if we are losing players and we don’t get the right ones in," said the Eagles boss. "It is my duty as manager to tell the owners what we have to do to be competitive and stay on our pathway."
Glasner wants Guehi to stay at Crystal Palace
Speaking to reporters following Crystal Palace's 1-0 win over Fredikstad in the first leg of their Europa Conference League play-off on Thursday night, Glasner insisted that Guehi 'has to stay'. The Austrian also joked that he may need to lace up his boots if the Liverpool target leaves.
"We are very, very late to find replacements," said Glasner. "I think we could have behaved much better than we did. It's not the best way to start the season. I think we are below the edge.

'If Marc [Guehi] leaves maybe I will try my boots because I was a centre back. We have to act. It's Crystal Palace's future and we need to add numbers."
Parish provides Guehi update
Steve Parish has suggested that Crystal Palace could be forced to cash in on Guehi before the window shuts. The Eagles chairman said: "If Marc Guehi wants to sign a contract, he can stay.
"It's a difficult situation, everyone has to sell players to comply with the rules. That's a situation that we will have to look at in the next days..."
