Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka will miss Sunday's blockbuster Premier League clash against Liverpool after being ruled out of action for up to four weeks. The 23-year-old was forced off with a hamstring injury in Saturday's 5-0 victory against Leeds United, leaving a dark cloud over a statement day at the Emirates Stadium.
Saka scored Arsenal's second goal of the match, adding to Viktor Gyokeres' brace and Jurrien Timber's header. However, fear descended over the Emirates when Saka went down clutching his hamstring with a grimace on his face early in the second half.
Mikel Arteta fuelled concern further after full-time, claiming that the England international's injury did not look good.
"Bukayo was running with the ball, and he felt something in his hamstring. It's the other one, not the same as last season. He felt something when sprinting; it's not a good sign," the Arsenal boss explained.
"We have to wait to understand how long he will be out. I haven't spoken to the doctor yet, but for Bukayo to come off, it's significant."
According to BBC Sport, Saka will be unavailable for three to four weeks through a hamstring problem, which may be a more favourable outcome than first feared.
