Burkina Faso international Dango Ouattara scored on his Brentford debut to give his new side a 1-0 win over Aston Villa on Saturday.

The 23-year-old joined Brentford from Bournemouth in August for a club record fee of £42.5 million and has already started giving a return on The Bees’ investment.

It took just 12 minutes for Ouattara to get his name on the scoresheet. Goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher booted the ball up the field, which was flicked into Ouattara’s path. He was too quick for Pau Torres and found himself one-on-one with Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez, who saved his first attempt but could not keep out the second.

Ouattara’s goal proved enough for Brentford to claim their first win of the 2025/26 Premier League season. The Bees sit in 10th place on the table after their second game of the campaign, having lost their first 3-1 to Nottingham Forest.

The winger has bagged 10 goals in 30 appearances for Burkina Faso. He scored seven goals and provided four assists in 32 Premier League appearances for the Cherries last season.
