As part of our girls academy restructure the team will play in the Professional Girls Academy (PGA) U21 league starting in 2025/26 with the former Blues and England midfielder leading the side after working with our Under-21s last season.

It follows the appointment of Hannah Dingley as Girls’ Head of Academy in May who will establish a clear pathway between the Academy and the first-team while creating and executing our performance plan.

For Christiansen, she hopes the programme put in place will develop City’s first-team players of tomorrow.

“I’m very excited, I think it’s very exciting times for Manchester City Women and the Academy,” she declared.

“A lot of work has been put in place over the past five or 10 years with all the coaches who have been here at the Club. Players making their first-team debuts last year from our development team.

“Now we’ve bolstered our next generation team which hopefully will end up being the next generation of Manchester City first-team players.”
