Coventry City manager Frank Lampard could return to Chelsea to sign one of their outcasts before the transfer window closes.
The Blues are trying to get rid of several players right now, including the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell.
Nkunku is attracting interest from Galatasaray, who have already signed former Chelsea target Victor Osimhen this summer.
As for Sterling and Chilwell, they could get moves to another English club before the transfer deadline next Monday.

Frank Lampard wants Ben Chilwell at Coventry
Sterling could get a transfer to Fulham, but Chilwell may have to drop down to the Championship, with Lampard’s Coventry being a potential option for him.
Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that Lampard is pushing to sign Chilwell from his former club.
The Club World Cup winners are struggling to find a buyer for Chilwell, with the defender on big money at Stamford Bridge.
Not having too many options, it is thought that Chelsea could even terminate Chilwell’s contract.

Lampard signed Chilwell during his first spell as Chelsea manager so knows the left-back very well. However, it is his successor Thomas Tuchel who probably got the best out of him.

What Thomas Tuchel once said about Ben Chilwell and Reece James
Tuchel used Chilwell and current Chelsea captain Reece James as wing-backs during his time in the Stamford Bridge dugout, and the two England internationals absolutely thrived there.
Despite being defenders on paper, for Tuchel, Chilwell and James were “dangerous” players.
Speaking after Chelsea’s 7-0 hammering of Norwich City back in the 2021/22 season, the German said: “I’m happy for Reece, because he feels the power he has, and we want more of his acceleration and physical ability. This is what he can deliver and bring to the team, same with Chilly on the other side.
“The wing-backs are now very, very dangerous. They’re permanent goal threats. This is what we need — players being in the box to create spaces.”
Unfortunately for Chilwell, since then, the 28-year-old has not been able to kick on because of injuries.
Chilwell is fit again but is not part of Enzo Maresca‘s plans, so he really needs a move away from Chelsea. His former boss could be the man to offer him a way out, and he would be silly not to consider that potential escape route.
