London – SABA: Manchester United’s poor start to the Premier League season continued on Sunday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Fulham at Craven Cottage in the second round of fixtures. The Red Devils earned their first point of the campaign after losing their opener 1-0 to Arsenal, while Fulham now sit on two points following last week’s draw with Brighton. The first half ended goalless, with United missing a golden chance to go ahead when Bruno Fernandes fired a penalty over the bar in the 38th minute after Mason Mount was fouled inside the box. United finally broke the deadlock in the 58th minute through an own goal by Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz, who deflected a header from French defender Leny Yoro into his own net. Fulham leveled the score in the 73rd minute, just two minutes after substitute Emile Smith Rowe came on, as he slotted home from inside the box following a cross by Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi. Elsewhere, Everton secured a valuable 2-0 victory over Brighton at Goodison Park, with goals from Senegalese forward Elimane Cissé Ndiaye and James Garner in the 23rd and 52nd minutes, both assisted by new signing Jack Grealish. Crystal Palace were held to a 1-1 home draw with Nottingham Forest. Ismaïla Sarr put Palace ahead in the 37th minute, before Callum Hudson-Odoi equalized for Forest.
