Aston Villa ‘indeed tempted’ to sign 27-year-old – Player on exit ramp, transfer on cards

Aston Villa could be an option for Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku this summer.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, and they report Aston Villa, RB Leipzig, Galatasaray and Bayer Leverkusen are all in the picture to sign the Chelsea player.

The forward was reduced to a limited role at Chelsea in the Premier League last season and wasn’t in the squad for the two league games this season.

Enzo Maresca has publicly urged the 27-year-old to find a solution this summer. He’s on the exit ramp and his future will certainly be away from the Club World Cup winners.

Foot Mercato reports Aston Villa and Leipzig are ‘indeed tempted’ by the idea of securing the France international’s services.

Unai Emery’s side and Leipzig could face competition from Bayer Leverkusen and the Turkish champions as they are also said to be keen.

Nkunku left Leipzig for Chelsea in 2023 and wasn’t able to cement his place at the west London club. He wants to bounce back and whether that’ll be at Aston Villa or another club remains to be seen.

Earlier this month, Foot Mercato reported about Newcastle United’s interest in Nkunku, valued at €40-50m by Chelsea.
