Everton eased the nerves on Sunday by securing three points in their Hill Dickinson Stadium opener against Brighton & Hove Albion.
David Moyes saw a number of his players excel on the docks, with Jack Grealish flourishing for Everton on his full debut.
The pressure was on Everton to begin their new chapter with a victory, having sent off Goodison Park with a win over Southampton.
It was also the first clean sheet of the season, with Jordan Pickford beaten by a penalty last week against Leeds United.
For the second game in a row, Everton conceded a penalty for handball, but the result was completely different this time around.
Pickford was slammed for his penalty cheat sheet by Jamie O’Hara, and the England number one hit back after full-time on Sunday.

What Jordan Pickford said about his penalty cheat sheet
In the defeat against Leeds, Moyes was frustrated with Pickford for a dangerous pass made in the lead up to the only goal of the game.
The feeling around the England number one will be completely different this week on the back of his penalty save.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
Speaking after the game, Pickford issued a subtle dig to O’Hara as he shared the tricks behind denying Danny Welbeck.
“I didn’t want to look at my bottle because I know people are gunning for it to be banned,” Pickford joked.
“It’s my trick. So, I’ll keep doing it.”
“You haven’t seen the little detail above [the graph] I had keeper’s left. So, I was never changing my mind, but that’s what I’m there to do.”
Much to the delight of the fans, Everton News understands Pickford has agreed to a new Everton contract.
As the 31-year-old alluded to, his graph showed Welbeck to have placed his penalties equally to either side of the goal.
However, the finer detail spotted noted for Pickford to dive to his left.
Jamie O’Hara left with egg on his face after Pickford penalty heroics
The penalty could have completely changed the game from Everton’s perspective, with Welbeck handed the opportunity to half the deficit.
Once again, the Everton goalkeeper showed his quality. He has done this for years now, which has even seen Jamie Carragher praise Pickford for his Everton displays.
Speaking on TalkSPORT last week, O’Hara called for Pickford’s penalty cheat sheet to be banned.
“I’m not having it. I think that should be knocked on its head. It’s got to be banned,” said O’Hara.
The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder will surely be left even more enraged after it led to a Pickford save this time around.
