Two days ago, Het Laatste Nieuws reported Manchester United are close to reaching an agreement to sign Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens.
On Sunday, the Belgian was left out of the squad in his side’s 2-1 win over KV Mechelen.
The stopper wants to make a switch to Old Trafford and Manchester United are keen on signing him. That’s according to a fresh report from Het Laatste Nieuws, and they say he’s likely to join the Red Devils this summer.
They again point out that Royal Antwerp are in advanced negotiations with the Red Devils for the 23-year-old. The Belgium club have set a €20m price and Manchester United could meet their request with bonuses. It’s claimed negotiations between the two clubs are heading in the right direction.
Galatasaray and other clubs are lurking in the background, ready to act in the event his move to Manchester United collapses, but there’s still confidence he’s moving to Old Trafford.
This is why Lammens was left out of the squad on Sunday. Royal Antwerp manager Stef Wils was specifically asked about dropping the goalkeeper, and HLN have relayed his comments.
“Transfer talks are ongoing. Senne is handling the situation calmly,” he said.
HLN say Royal Antwerp striker Vincent Janssen has a good relationship with Lammens. He has also responded to the latest reports of Manchester United’s interest.
“Senne is one of the few guys who really doesn’t say much about such things. We read more in the media than we hear from Senne himself. He’s very calm about it,” Janssen explained.
“Well, wherever he signs, he’ll definitely be able to make a fantastic move. He deserves it. Senne has already proven he can handle a step up.”
