Alexander Isak drama spills over into the squared circle as WWE comes to Newcastle

ยท 25 August 2025, 10:39

**The WWE brought their squared circle (it's a ring, lads, just call it a ring) to Newcastle over the weekend and not even wrestling fans could escape the Alexander Isak saga for a couple of hours.**

There will have been plenty of Newcastle United fans in the arena as the WWE put on a show for the Geordie Nation.

It probably seemed like a nice little escape for many. A few hours away from football, a bit of time to forget about Alexander Isak and all of that drama.

However, Irish (because of course) wrestler JD McDonagh decided he'd poke the bear a little bit by revealing a Liverpool shirt underneath his regular T-shirt.

Justice was served

JD McDonagh was instantly met with a chorus of boos, but then he made matters worse when he turned around to reveal ISAK 9 printed on the back.

As a side note, it may be time for WWE to reassess how much they pay their performers, as the poor bloke couldn't even afford to get the proper Premier League lettering, bless him.

Part of The Judgement Day team, JD McDonagh was ultimately defeated by CM Punk and his crew, so justice was served in front of the Geordies.

Joelinton with a clothesline on VVD?

------------------------------------

Now let's hope Joelinton can replicate CM Punk tonight at St James' Park by putting Virgil Van Dijk into the Gallowgate End.

Newcastle face Liverpool at St James' Park live on Sky Sports at 8 pm tonight. I'll be tuning in at 7:59 pm because I absolutely can not do without Sky Sports swooning over Liverpool for 90 minutes before kick-off.

It's bound to be that rare case of Monday Night Football where they actually talk about the upcoming game rather than anything but.
