Last month, Bold reported both FC Midtjylland and FC Copenhagen are in talks to sign AFC Bournemouth’s Philip Billing this summer.
Last Thursday, Gianluca Di Marzio reported the 29-year-old will leave Bournemouth and that Copenhagen, Sheffield United and Ipswich Town are his suitors.
A day later, TuttoMercatoWeb said OGC Nice, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Eintracht Frankfurt are also in the list.
Midtjylland have managed to overcome competition from Copenhagen and others to sign the midfielder. That’s according to Tipsbladet, who report the Danish club have agreed to pay the Cherries €5m plus bonuses.
With bonuses, the report states Billing will be Midtjylland’s new club-record signing. The player will sign a contract until 2030, worth just under €2m per year.
Last week, the Denmark international visited Midtjylland’s stadium and training facilities. The report states this convinced him to pick them, after which the negotiations advanced.
The operation is so advanced that the Bournemouth player already travelled to Denmark and underwent medical tests with Midtjylland late on Sunday.
Tipsbladet reports the Superliga club are aiming to close the deal soon, and barring any last-minute setbacks, they are in line to wrap up this operation quickly.
Bold in Denmark are reporting Billing has successfully completed his medical tests. The contract signing and the official announcement is now pending to formalise the transfer.
