Giants news, 8/25: Tracking cuts, record and roster predictions, more

Good morning, New York Giants fans!

SI’s Conor Orr comes up with a 6-11 record for the Giants.

Sheil Kapadia ranks the Giants a disappointing 18th, saying only that “a leap to competency seems reasonable.”

This defense needs to be much better than competent for the Giants to win games, and for defensive coordinator Shane Bowen to keep his job.

Paul Schwartz offers his version of a 53-man roster projection.

After injury-plagued summer Skattebo is healthy and ready to run.

BR’s Alex Kay has the Minnesota Vikings offering a seventh-round pick to the Giants for Jameis Winston.

That is a hard no. If they want to offer a seventh-rounder for Tommy DeVito, that is a different story.

Kay has the Giants offering Kayvon Thibodeaux to the Chicago Bears for third-and fifth-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft.

That is far more interesting. I still would not do it because I want to see the troika of Thibodeaux, Brian Burns and Abdul Carter get a chance to play together, but it would get my attention.

Malik Nabers of the Giants comes in at No. 16 on this list.

There are enough quarterback-needy teams in the NFL that the Giants should be able to get something for DeVito. Here are some landing spots.
