Following a disappointing loss at Bournemouth this weekend, Gary Lineker shares his thoughts on Wolves’ shaky start to the season.
Gary Lineker hasn’t been high on Wolves lately, and another loss at the Vitality Stadium hasn’t helped.
Wolves went behind within five minutes on Saturday, and a Toti Gomes red card early in the second half made any effort to come back into the tie an uphill battle.

It wasn’t a thumping like what we saw against Man City on opening day, but it also hasn’t done much to change his mind on Wolves’ prospects for the campaign.
In their weekly roundup of Premier League action, Lineker spoke to Alan Shearer about another disappointing Wolves result, which he predicted.
He said: “Wolves did a bit better in this game but still struggled.”
As for what it means in the wider context of the Premier League, he thinks other teams will be licking their lips, as he explains: “Probably encouraging to the three promoted clubs is also the fact that Wolves and West Ham in particular looked really off it.”
MORE WOLVES STORIES
Before the season began, the former England international seemed to think it would be business as usual at the bottom, with the three promoted clubs going down.
But following one weekend of action, Lineker was more optimistic about their chances. And two games in, it’s spelling danger for Vitor Pereira’s side.
Wolves should be worried about strong starts from Burnley, Leeds and Sunderland
Wolves are no strangers to a bad start to the season, as their terrible August record suggests.
Last season, they were able to come back from bottom of the table, finishing 17 points clear of the drop, thanks to the extremely low standards of the relegated sides.
But this campaign, each of the promoted teams have already gotten their first win. Leeds beat Everton on opening weekend as Sunderland cruised to victory over West Ham. Burnley got off the mark on Saturday with a 2-0 win over the Black Cats.
Each of them has already proven they can get three points in the top flight, and now the pressure is on Wolves to prevent the gap from widening.
They face all three in the next two months, and they will be some of the most important games of the season.
