Leeds were knocked out in the first round of the Carabao Cup last season, as they prepare to take on Sheffield Wednesday this time around.
Each Premier League team is automatically entered into the second round, where the Peacocks will face the Owls in crisis at Hillsborough on Tuesday.
Last season, Leeds were knocked out of the Carabao Cup in a surprise 3-0 loss to Middlesbrough.
Daniel Farke’s side did get revenge in the Championship against Boro, winning 3-1 and 1-0, and they will be hoping to get back to winning ways against second-tier neighbours Sheffield Wednesday.

Leeds massive favourites against Sheffield Wednesday
Leeds will be looking to put their 5-0 defeat to Arsenal behind them when they visit Sheffield Wednesday on 26 August.

Farke could field a much-changed side to rest a few players, while also giving new signings such as Noah Okafor a chance to bed in.
Against struggling Championship opposition, it is expected that the Whites will win, though their recent thrashing appears to have damaged their chances.
According to the supercomputer of Opta, the Peacocks have a 54 per cent chance of winning, with the hosts having a 23 per cent chance, and a 22 per cent chance it could finish in a draw.
Given Sheffield Wednesday’s troubles on and off the pitch, that percentage is low
The Owls are yet to find new owners
They have just 14 senior players remaining at the club
Given Farke’s extensive summer business, which has transitioned his side from a top Championship team to a Premier League one, you would expect Farke’s side to win with ease.
Leeds did the double over their opponents last season, winning 3-0 and 2-0 in their hunt for the title.
However, the Peacocks’ performances in the Carabao Cup over the years don’t make for good reading

Leeds haven’t made it past the fourth round of the Carabao Cup in five years
Leeds got off to a fast start to the season with their 1-0 opening game win against Everton.
Despite the blip at the Emirates, Farke will be looking to carry that confidence into their cup tie with Sheffield Wednesday.
Leeds’ last five Carabao Cup campaigns:
Knocked out by Middlesbrough – First round (2024/25)
Knocked out by Salford – Second round (2023/24)
Knocked out by Wolves – Third round (2022/23)
Knocked out by Arsenal – Fourth round (2021/22)
Knocked out by Hull – Second round (2020/21)
However, getting eliminated in the earlier rounds of the cup competition might not be a bad thing and would allow Leeds to focus on staying up in the Premier League.
