Owner arrival in city can push Manchester United transfer – Manager and director working on move

Last week, Corriere dello Sport reported Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho was taking some extra days to decide about a move to AS Roma.

Attempts were ongoing at the Italian side but they were not leading to results, with manager Gian Piero Gasperini making it clear that the player is yet to fully reject the Giallorossi.

Today’s Corriere dello Sport reports Roma owner Dan Friedkin will arrive in the Italian capital tomorrow and a host of topics will be on the agenda, including the move for the Manchester United outcast.

They indicate that manager Gasperini and sporting director Frederic Massara are still hoping for Sancho to sign, having spoken to him personally.

Manchester United are also desperate to get rid of the player. The newspaper believes Red Devils’ sporting director Jason Wilcox ‘wakes up hoping to be rid of Sancho’ but is troubled by the stalemate between the 25-year-old and Roma, even if the two clubs have an agreement already.

Gasperini and Massara are expected to intensify contacts with Sancho’s entourage today, as they see him as someone who can improve the Giallorossi attack.

The outlet notes Friedkin’s arrival in Rome always brings about key transfer developments and something similar can unfold this week.
