New York Jets general manager Darren Mougey isn’t done cooking.

“The Jets have made three trades since Wednesday and might not be done. They have quality offensive tackle depth that garners interest. Warren has two years remaining on his $4.5 million rookie contract.

Jets Are Dealing With a First World Problem in the NFL

Good offensive linemen are hard to find. They are often in short supply, and when teams have hog mollies, they normally keep them, not trade them away.

However, the Jets appear to be in a unique position with their starters and depth on lock. So much so that they’d have some to spare with the rest of the league for the right price.

Warren, 26, entered the league as the No. 120 overall pick in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL draft.

During his two years in the league to date, Warren has appeared in 14 games and has made six starts.

Warren Has Struggled When Given the Opportunity at the NFL Level

There are two reasons why the Jets might be willing to offload him to another team.

Firstly, the Jets have depth on the offensive line. They have five starters and two depth pieces that have plenty of experience in Josh Myers (56 starts) and Chukwuma Okorafor (60 starts), respectively.

Secondly, Warren has struggled when the Jets have put him in games.

During his rookie season in 2023, Warren finished with a 46.9 overall grade (ranked 124th), a 45.5 pass block grade (ranked 111th), and a 49.9 run block grade (ranked 113th), per Pro Football Focus.

In the majority of the categories, things were even worse in 2024. He finished with a 44.6 overall grade (ranked 128th), a 34.1 pass block grade (ranked 129th), and a 58.4 run block grade (ranked 83rd), per PFF.

While Warren made a significant jump in his run blocking from one year to the next, it was still well below league average. He ranked 83rd out of 140 qualified offensive tackles. The league average would have been 70th.
