Coventry City may be in electric form right now but Frank Lampard has his eyes on the transfer market with new recruits in mind.
The big story in the Championship over the weekend was Coventry City smashing seven goals past QPR for a record-breaking win.
The Sky Blues are unbeaten in the first three games and appear to be picking up right where they left off last season with this early run of form.
However, Frank Lampard is not resting on his laurels and has issued a thinly-veiled request to the Coventry City board outlining his desire to add more players to his squad.

How Frank Lampard feels about Coventry City transfer window
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph after this weekend’s action, Lampard was asked about his plans for the final week of the transfer window, and it sounds like he still wants to see some new faces come through the door despite how strong his team have looked already this term.
He said: “It depends on what way you look at it, doesn’t it, because I definitely understand that over the course of a long season you need a strong squad if you really want to push at the top of the league.
“And I understand where the squad can maybe have some more depth, but those things are obviously all moving parts at the minute.”
So far this summer we’ve only seen three new Coventry City signings, but with very few players departing the CBS Arena, Lampard does have a very consistent and solid squad.
The Sky Blues were linked to Charlie Hughes at Hull City and William Boving was mentioned as a target, too. Meanwhile, Lampard has dealt with speculation around Jack Rudoni and Bobby Thomas of late, but both players now seem set to stay with Coventry.

Coventry City linked to Ben Chilwell
Coventry sent a warning to their rivals this weekend with that huge win over QPR, but an even bigger statement could come in the form of a potential new signing.
Take it with a pinch of salt, but one report from Si Phillips claims Ben Chilwell is now a target for Coventry. The 28-year-old is still with Chelsea but spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace.
With no future at Stamford Bridge, could the experienced full-back be interested in dropping down a division to rekindle his career? Is Chilwell worth the risk when you consider his injury record?
We’ll have to wait and see whether this rumour comes to anything, but there’s no denying that a player of Chilwell’s pedigree would be a great coup for Coventry.
