Newcastle United vs Liverpool is a big enough game without the Alexander Isak saga lingering in the background, but pundit Gary Neville sees a resolution soon.
Indeed, Geordie Boot Boys understands that Liverpool are set to make a new bid for Isak, which is now almost certain to come after Monday night’s Premier League clash between the two.
Isak won’t be playing for Newcastle against Liverpool and desperately wants to leave St James’ Park for Anfield.
While it looks increasingly likely that Newcastle will keep Isak this summer, the situation can of course still change given the transfer window is open.
An improved offer from Liverpool would give PIF a decision to make, although the Newcastle United owners have already confirmed they do not expect to see the Sweden international depart now.
Neville, however, has other ideas.

Gary Neville previews Newcastle United vs Liverpool
The Sky Sports pundit was talking about the size of Monday night’s game.
Speaking on the Gary Neville Podcast from Craven Cottage after Manchester United were held to a draw by Fulham, the ex-England defender suggested it was obvious that there would be movement on Isak to Liverpool after the clash on Tyneside.
“It’s a brilliant game,” he said.

“I think that you don’t always get this type of game on a Monday night but I think these two teams not being in the Carabao Cup in this round and Europe not starting yet means that it’s a blockbuster fixture.
“And with a bit of spice added because of the Isak situation. We all know what’s going on there, I think, don’t we?
“They’re waiting for this game to be finished before they do the business.”
Alexander Isak saga could be coming to an unwelcome end for him
It’s a great shame that Isak will not be playing for Newcastle against Liverpool. Wanting to join the Reds is not really an issue amongst supporters, but to leave Eddie Howe light again could be seen as unforgivable by fans.
Newcastle fans have turned on Isak, who also missed last week’s draw at Aston Villa despite being fit.
However, the 25-year-old may need to start making amends soon.
Indeed, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Newcastle hope Isak will return to training after the Liverpool game.
Sadly for the wantaway Swede, he might need to start building bridges on Tyneside very soon.
