Former Milwaukee Bucks guard Tony Snell hasn’t played an NBA game since 2022 although he has been working hard to get back to the league. That mission will be put on hold for now as he just signed a deal to play in Europe.

The 2013 20th overall pick signed with Boulazac Basket Dordogne which plays for LNB Pro B, the country’s second division professional basketball league.
Boulazac head coach Alexandre Menard is excited about having Snell in his team.
“A renowned shooter and defender in the NBA for 9 seasons, Tony SNELL arrives with the firm intention of passing on to his teammates his love for the game and his thirst for victory,” Menard said in a press conference held to introduce the former Buck.

“His atypical career, his endearing personality as well as his basketball skills will undoubtedly delight all Boulazac Basket Dordogne fans during our matches at the Palio and in all Betclic Elite venues!”
This will be the very first time Snell will play outside of the United States.
Tony Snell’s life after Milwaukee Bucks
Snell played nine seasons in the NBA but his longest and most notable stay was with the Bucks.
He was drafted by the Chicago Bulls after playing three seasons with the New Mexico Lobos. He was traded to the Bucks in 2016 in exchange for 2013 Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams.
He had his best playing years with the Bucks with whom he had the highest average in scoring (8.5) and most minutes played. He was let go in 2019 and was traded to the Detroit Pistons. He became a journeyman from there.

Snell played for four teams in three seasons after that. He was signed by the Atlanta Hawks, Portland Trailblazers, and the New Orleans Pelicans which was also his last NBA team. His closest chance to returning was a workout in 2023 with the Golden State Warriors.
He played for G-League teams Maine Celtics (2023-2024) and Sioux Falls Skyforce (2024-2025) in hopes of landing an NBA gig.
