Howie Roseman may have found yet another gem on the Eagles' offensive line

The Kendall family knows a thing or two about football, and Eagles rookie Drew Kendall is off to a decent start in the "family business".

As the preseason comes to a close, Drew Kendall, the son of 13-year veteran Pete Kendall, has come to the forefront as one of the league's highest graded offensive linemen out of 86 qualifying grades. Kendall has ranked sixth after his first camp with the Eagles and has bolstered his status within the organization as cut day approaches.

Dave Zangaro, of NBC Sports Philadelphia, took the time last week to acknowledge that Kendall has been working hard to maximize his effectiveness and value to the team. Kendall is seemingly following in the steps of Cam Jurgens, who also made a position change once Jason Kelce retired.

How Kendall fits in the Eagles' future on the offensive line

Kendall has been working to provide value at guard, in addition to center. He has spent extra time after practice working with coaches Jeff Stoutland and Greg Austin for additional instruction. In his second preseason game, he played 47 snaps with the majority at Guard, a position he hasn't played since high school.

The Eagles have done a great job developing and drafting young talent, not only for the whole team but especially for the offensive line. Landon Dickerson, Lane Johnson, Jordan Mailata, Cam Jurgens, and Tyler Steen are projected to start, all of whom were drafted by the organization, and all are expected to develop into high-level players.

The 2025 Eagles draft class shows more of the same upside potential. Led by Kendall, the Eagles also drafted Myles Hinton and Cameron Williams, both in the sixth round, who will immediately compete for a roster spot while providing quality depth.

Between the versatility, development, and coaching, the Kendall is primed to grow into the next Eagles gem that continues the long line of home-grown talent in the Philadelphia trenches.
