TBR Football understands that Newcastle United have been offered Sporting striker Conrad Harder – as he looks set to leave the Portuguese giants.
Harder had been seen as Viktor Gyokeres’ long-term successor after he joined Arsenal but the 20-year-old Denmark international is now close to leaving Sporting before next week’s transfer deadline.
Newcastle are looking for a striker as Alexander Isak continues to look for an exit from St James’ Park. He is currently training away from the first team, insisting promises have been broken while the club are holding firm on their valuation of the Swedish forward.

Brentford’s Yoane Wissa is an ongoing target for Eddie Howe’s side, and now it seems they have been offered the chance to sign Harder, too.
According to TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey, AC Milan have turned their attention to Harder having pulled out of a deal for Victor Boniface and failed to agree terms with Manchester United over Rasmus Hojlund.
Milan have made an offer worth around £20million plus a substantial sell-on clause and talks are continuing.

Bailey says: “TBR Football can now reveal that intermediaries have made contact with Newcastle to inform them of the availability of Harder.
“We understand that Harder is a player that Newcastle have previously scouted. Newcastle are in the market for two new strikers before the window closes.”
Conrad Harder could leave Sporting CP after just one year amid AC Milan interest and fresh Newcastle links
Harder, 20, signed for Sporting only 12 months ago from Nordsjaelland for a fee of around £16m, with the club announcing a release clause of £69m. He scored 12 goals and added seven assists in 51 appearances last season and could now be set to depart.
Newcastle signings this summer:
Anthony Elanga – £53m
Jacob Ramsey – £39m
Malick Thiaw – £36.4m
Aaron Ramsdale – loan
With Milan offering a fee significantly lower than the release clause, Newcastle may watch closely before deciding to act on the latest developments over Harder’s future.
TBR Football understand Brentford have told Newcastle they will need to pay £60m to sign Yoane Wissa, with the Magpies already spending over £100m to sign Anthony Elanga, Jacob Ramsey, and Malick Thiaw.
That spending spree could be offset should Liverpool meet Newcastle’s reported asking price of £150m for Isak. And the two sides meet on Monday night at St James’ Park in what promises to be a charged affair given their off-field dealings this summer.
