Graham Potter may reportedly have two more games to save his West Ham United job after the Hammers’ winless start to the 2025-26 Premier League season.
Potter replaced Julen Lopetegui in January, but the former Chelsea head coach’s results have underwhelmed since he arrived at the turn of the year.
The 50-year-old has won just five top-flight games since taking charge, while drawing another five and losing 10 of his 20 matches at the helm.
While patience was reportedly running thin at the London Stadium in the second half of last season, results at the start of the new campaign have remained dismal.
The Englishman’s team fell to a 3-0 defeat in their opening league fixture at promoted Sunderland, while Enzo Maresca's Chelsea secured a comfortable 5-1 comeback victory on Friday night, resulting in a torrent of boos at the interlude and the final whistle.
Potter sets unwanted West Ham record

The anger of supporters towards Potter may be justified, considering that the Hammers boss has earned only nine points from his first 10 Premier League matches at the London Stadium since January — one fewer than Alan Curbishley and Avram Grant managed in the same number of home games during their spells at the club.
The 50-year-old’s tenure has seen just one league clean sheet at home in that period, with only 11 goals scored and 17 conceded, further highlighting the ex-Swansea City coach's struggles since taking charge.
These ongoing poor results have raised further questions about his future, and Sky Sports News report that the struggling manager’s performance in East London must improve if he is to keep his job.
Potter’s prospects may depend on upcoming fixtures against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the EFL Cup and Nottingham Forest in the Premier League this week, as the pressure and criticism continue to intensify on the former Brighton & Hove Albion boss.
Have Potter and West Ham been unlucky this season?

While West Ham have struggled from set-pieces this season, highlighted in losses to Sunderland and Chelsea, the Hammers let in three goals against the Black Cats, whose expected goals (xG) was 0.75.
Against the Blues on Friday, the struggling home side conceded five times from the West London club’s seven attempts on target, indicating top-quality finishing from Maresca’s team, who also punished their cross-town rivals from dead balls.
Although the shot count against the Blues was 12-12, Potter’s side did not generate as many quality opportunities to beat the Club World Cup winners, who fashioned seven big chances to the home team’s one.
However, Friday’s match might have gone differently if Jean-Clair Todibo had not strayed offside in the 17th minute, when West Ham briefly thought they had retaken the lead just two minutes after Joao Pedro equalised for the visiting side.
