With just a week left before the summer transfer window slams shut, Manchester City will have to finalise where Savinho’s future lies soon and vice-versa.
Tottenham held fresh talks to sign Savinho after their 2-0 win at the Etihad Stadium as they are hoping to make a late swoop for the Brazilian international.
As for the player himself, he would be hoping for some clarity around his future at or even away from Manchester City, keeping the 2026 World Cup in mind.
Tottenham believe Savinho is the real deal and after missing out on Eberechi Eze, who has joined Arsenal — the decision-makers at Spurs seem desperate to secure the 21-year-old’s services.

Tottenham promised Man City they will pay over £60 million to sign Savinho
Savinho will be determined to up his game this season, despite looking like a promising prospect during his debut campaign in English football.
Tottenham’s desire to sign Savinho is to such a degree that they are ready to pay over £60 million to prise him away from City and make him their club-record addition.
More Man City News
Fabrizio Romano has revealed on his YouTube that on Monday, Tottenham held talks with Manchester City again and promised to pay the figure to complete a deal for the youngster: “Tottenham will go over €70 million (£60.6 million), even today, Tottenham told Manchester City that they are prepared to go over €70 million. Now, the deal completely depends on Manchester City being able to find a replacement or not. So, it’s Manchester City who have to say, ‘okay, we sell Savio because we find a replacement or not, we keep Savinho.’
Manchester City News confirmed Pep Guardiola’s side are targeting Rodrygo and a deal only seems feasible if they sign a replacement for Savinho like the Real Madrid winger; with a potential move considered complex.
“Remember, the name wanted by Pep Guardiola is Rodrygo but it’s not an easy deal. It’s everything to build in this deal. The Real Madrid valuation, €100 million minimum, the contract of Rodrygo, a really big salary, way more than Savinho, the love of Rodrygo for Real Madrid, starting also last night [against Real Oviedo] with Xabi Alonso sending a message to the player. So, we have to see what happens there with Rodrygo.”
“So, for sure, Tottenham will go back for Savinho. It’s not over that story, the deal is absolutely on.”
Man City’s asking price for Savinho has been revealed
With Rodrygo impressing against Real Oviedo, Xabi Alonso may well have decided to keep him.
The two-time Champions League winner looked lively on Sunday night as his Real Madrid side eventually won 2-0 to maintain their winning start to the 2025/2026 La Liga campaign.
Manchester City’s asking price for Savinho is £69 million, as per journalist Ben Jacobs — which is almost £9 million more than how much Tottenham are willing to pay to sign him.
Tottenham are still trying to sign Savinho following talks over the weekend.

If City are on board with the sale, it will key for them to decide whether they are happy to lower their valuation or stick to their asking price and risk missing out on a potentially lucrative bit of business.
Judging by the fresh round of talks between the two clubs, the signs suggest that a move could accelerate in the coming days.
