WWE superstar JD McDonagh hilariously riled up fans in Newcastle, England, as he wore a Liverpool jersey with Isak written on the back. The moment took place on the 24 August Road to Clash in Paris house show at the Utilita Arena. The Judgement Day lost a six-man tag team match against the team of CM Punk, LA Knight, and Penta.

The mocking of local sports teams is a classic heel tactic that wrestlers employ to get cheap heat. In 2018, Elias famously received vitriolic boos when he mocked the Seattle Crowd over the displacement of their NBA franchise, the Seattle SuperSonics.
The nature of the Alexander Isak saga is a contentious issue for football fans and the city of Newcastle. For those unaware, Alexander Isak is a striker for Newcastle United who has recently refused to play as he pushes for a transfer to Premier League Champions Liverpool.
The Swedish hitman was a hero for fans in Tyneside and won Newcastle their first major trophy in 70 years. However, his actions have soured his relationship with the fans, and McDonagh pounced on the opportunity to mock them.
The concept of stars refusing to play isn’t foreign to the WWE. The likes of CM Punk, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Sasha Banks, and Naomi have all walked out despite being contracted. Whilst three of those names returned, Toon fans are unsure if Isak has played his last game for the club.
Ironically, Newcastle will be hosting Liverpool tonight in the Premier League in a highly anticipated contest. McDonagh, a well-known Liverpool supporter, will probably be watching backstage as Raw kicks off at the same time.
The go-home edition of Monday Night Raw emanates from the bp pulse LIVE in Birmingham, England.
