Kamara was forced off early in last weekend’s 1-0 defeat at Brentford and though initial scans have indicated the issue is not too serious, the 25-year-old is expected to be sidelined for up to three weeks.
That will definitely rule him out of the clash with Palace, with Villa hopeful he may be able to return for the trip to Everton immediately following the international break.
Kamara, who joined Villa on a free transfer in 2022, has been one of the club’s most important players under Unai Emery and signed a new five-year contract during the summer.
Villa are also monitoring Ross Barkley in the hope the midfielder will be ready to play some part against Palace.
The 31-year-old is yet to feature after sustaining an injury in pre-season and has steadily been working his way back to fitness.
