WWE superstar JD McDonagh, real name Jordan Devlin, drew the fury of Newcastle fans as he taunted the crowd during a live event.

McDonagh was part of the travelling WWE crew during their tour of the UK and Ireland when they visited Newcastle. And McDonagh, an avid Liverpool fan, couldn't help but take the chance to launch a cheeky dig at the Geordie audience.

With his opponent on the canvas, McDonagh removed his Judgement Day shirt - the faction which he belongs to - to reveal a Liverpool shirt. The move was met by loud boos from those in attendance in Newcastle.

And they would get even louder when it emerged he had printed 'Isak 9' onto the back of the shirt.

McDonagh would even post the video on X, formerly known as Twitter, with the caption: "Free Isak".

"Better than a Fabrizio Here we go, my boy is finally coming home," one fan joked. While a second said: "Seeing CM Punk crashing out over a Liverpool Isak shirt is not the crossover I expected!"

"Good idea to get a reaction tbf but it's hilarious that he's Irish as well," a third pointed out. As a fourth shared: "The WWE/Football crossover we all needed!"

And another added: "There’s actually no going back at this point, he has to sign..."

Whether Isak will be willing to rejoin the squad following his contentious decision to miss the club's Far East tour and opt to train independently in Spain last month remains uncertain.

The speculation circulating behind the scenes at St James' Park continues to suggest that Isak's only route to securing a transfer to Liverpool is for the Reds to table an offer of approximately £150m.
