Despite adopting an all-out approach in the summer transfer window, [Manchester United have started the Premier League season on a disappointing note](https://www.firstpost.com/sports/football-news/manchester-united-transfer-news-ruben-amorim-premier-league-results-13927733.html). The club is winless after the opening two games, putting manager Ruben Amorim under enormous pressure to justify the whopping amount spent on signings.
United splurged over £200m to improve the front line, but it is fairly evident after the first two games that the club lacks quality in the midfield. Fortunately for United, they still have a week left to invest in an impactful ball-carrier. The Red Devils can still indulge in late business.
The substandard results and the requirement of a new midfielder are not the only concerns in front of [Ruben Amorim](https://www.firstpost.com/sports/football-news/manchester-united-fulham-ruben-amorim-jack-grealish-premier-league-results-13927596.html). The club is still seeking buyers for unwanted players- Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia, and Rasmus Hojlund.
**Man United rejects Chelsea’s offer for Garnacho**
---------------------------------------------------
Some reports of possible interest do surface here and there for the aforementioned players, but so far, nothing significant has transpired when it comes to the transfer of these players.
However, a staggering report reveals that United recently rejected a swap deal for Garnacho. According to renowned transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, United rejected the chance to sign 19-year-old Tyrique George from Chelsea in exchange for Garnacho.
**Likely reason behind United’s rejection**
-------------------------------------------
Considering the 19-year-old has formed an impressive resume playing for Chelsea, scoring three goals and providing five assists last season, it seemed like a fair deal, but United turned it down because they do not require a winger at this point. Moreover, given that Garnacho is an academy graduate, they would look to extract the best value for him before the summer transfer window closes on September 1, 2025.
However, if United fails to sell him in the stipulated time, then Garnacho will continue his stint at the Old Trafford. It will be difficult for him to win over manager and fans following what transpired in the aftermath of United’s Europa Cup loss to Tottenham Hotspur.
It will be a testing few days for Ruben Amorim and following that, the next couple of weeks will determine whether he can bring the club back to winning ways or will fade away like many of his predecessors in recent years.
