The Indiana Pacers have added veteran coach Johnny Carpenter to Rick Carlisle's staff, while Jim Boylen joins Lloyd Pierce and Jenny Boucek as assistant coaches.
The Indiana Pacers officially announced that veteran assistant coach Johnny Carpenter is joining head coach Rick Carlisle's staff. Per team policy, the terms of his deal were not disclosed.
Carpenter spent last season with the Memphis Grizzlies in player development and scouting.
Before that, he spent nine years with the Virginia Cavaliers, serving in several roles, including assistant coach, director of player personnel, and basketball technology assistant.
He also worked with Carlisle during the 2014-15 season as an assistant video coordinator for the Dallas Mavericks.
In a related move, Jim Boylen will join Lloyd Pierce and Jenny Boucek on the front of the bench as assistant coaches.
