Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is reportedly weighing up leaving Old Trafford and West Ham fans have been discussing whether their club should consider making a move for him.
The 20-year-old has not played a single minute in the Red Devils’ first two fixtures, prompting speculation about his future.
Hammers supporters on X are split on whether Mainoo would be a realistic transfer target or not:

We’ve got to test the water surely, stick a loan offer in – forget the option to buy. We’re desperate for youth and legs in the middle. World Cup season aswell, he’ll know that he’d start every game for us

Doubt he would come but we have to move heaven and earth to try, he would transform our midfield

Mainoo would strengthen the club’s midfield options
Graham Potter is desperately short of legs in midfield, as evidenced by the woeful 5-1 defeat to London rivals Chelsea on Friday night.
Mainoo is certainly the right profile, and he can carry the ball long distances, although there are still questions about his technical ability.
If there is a chance that the England international would consider a move to the London Stadium to get more game time, it is an option the Irons should explore.
West Ham could not afford a permanent transfer
It goes without saying that owner David Sullivan would not be able to match any asking price set for Mainoo. You would think a loan is the best the club could offer, and that might not be an attractive proposition for the Red Devils.
Other teams, such as Tottenham and Chelsea, have also been linked with the player, so at the moment, the chances of him making the switch to the Hammers are pretty low.
