BBC Journalist Confirms Extended Injury Layoff For Key Player Ahead Of Liverpool Vs Arsenal

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka will miss the game against Liverpool this weekend, according to BBC reporter Sami Mokbel.

The journalist is extremely reliable when it comes to the Gunners, and he claims the 23-year-old will be sidelined for up to four weeks with a hamstring problem.

Saka limped off just after halftime during the 5-0 win over Leeds United on Saturday night, and he was already a serious doubt for the trip to Anfield.

The England international scored in the 2-2 draw at the Emirates in the first fixture between the two sides last season, and he also started the 2-2 stalemate at Anfield back in May.

Saka is not the only key Arsenal player who could miss the match

Gunners captain Martin Odegaard actually left the pitch earlier than Saka against Leeds with his own injury.

The Norwegian picked up a shoulder problem and was replaced during the first half at the weekend. He is currently a doubt to face Arne Slot’s side, but he has not been ruled out of the fixture at this stage.

Liverpool have their own fitness concerns

Like Saka, Jeremie Frimpong has been ruled out until after the next international break with a hamstring injury. He lasted just 60 minutes against Bournemouth before he had to be withdrawn.

Conor Bradley has not featured for the Reds in the Community Shield or the opening Premier League game due to a knock. However, the Northern Ireland international has been back in training over the past few days, and he could make the matchday squad for the match against Newcastle. It would still be a risk to start him at St James’ Park.

Joe Gomez remains an injury concern. Despite coming on as a substitute versus Bournemouth, Slot has revealed that the 28-year-old is struggling to train on a consistent basis.
