The Vikings have begun the process of narrowing down their roster ahead of Tuesday’s roster limit deadline by terminating two contracts and waiving nine players.
Sunday saw the Vikings’ front office announce that the contracts of Quarterback Brett Rypien and Outside Linebacker Cam Gill had been terminated.

In addition to the terminations, nine other players were waived:
* Reddy Steward, CB, One year of NFL experience
* Keenan Garber, CB, Rookie
* Tre Stewart, RB, Rookie
* Mishael Powell, Safety, Rookie
* Logan Brown, Tackle, Rookie
* Zack Bailey, OL, three years of NFL experience
* Silas Bolden, WR, Rookie
* Robert Lewis, WR, Rookie
* Travis Bell, DL, two years of NFL Experience
The move comes as the NFL’s 53 roster size limit quickly approaches. The Vikings and 31 other NFL teams will have until August 26, at 3 p.m. Central, to finalize their full-team roster.
