David Moyes eyeing summer deal for Tottenham star facing accusations of being insincere

Everton on red alert over the potential availability of Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma

Yves Bissouma has rapidly fallen out of favour with new Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank.

The Mali international was left out of Spurs’ UEFA Super Cup squad to face Paris Saint-Germain at the start of August after Thomas Frank highlighted his repeated lateness over the course of pre-season. The midfielder has not featured in Spurs’ opening two games against Burnley and Manchester City.

This seems to be a clear message from the Danish tactician that Yves Bissouma is not in his plans. The central midfielder’s career in North London looks to be at the point of no return. He has been linked with an exit from N17 since the start of the summer. Turkey looked to be a realistic destination for the 28-year-old, with Fenerbahce showing concrete interest in recent months. West Ham United have been keen on the Spurs outcast, who has entered the final year of his contract.

Yves Bissouma is expected to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer

Everton are eyeing a move for the out-of-favour Tottenham midfielder

Bissouma has struggled to fulfil his full potential at Tottenham since signing from Brighton in the summer of 2022. Even former boss Ange Postecoglou could not improve the player’s on and off the field antics. As a result, an exit is very much on the cards before September 1.

It looks like Bissouma’s fortunes could change now that he has entered the radar of Everton. The Merseyside outfit have been assessing a number of options, as manager David Moyes wants to reinforce his midfield unit. They are believed to have been alerted by the Tottenham midfielder’s potential availability.

Former Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers scout Mick Brown insists that David Moyes likes Bissouma and that Everton have now joined top clubs to sign him from Tottenham.

“Yves Bissouma would be a good signing for Everton,” Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider.

“He’s a player Moyesy likes so I have no doubt he’s on their radar, especially if Tottenham are planning to listen to offers for him.

“I saw him play for Brighton against Wolves a couple of years ago and he didn’t put a foot wrong, he was brilliant and it was a really impressive performance.

“I don’t think he’s shown that since he’s been at Tottenham to be honest. Maybe the set-up there doesn’t work for him, I don’t know what it is.

“But a move somewhere like Everton might be what gets the best out of him, playing under David Moyes in more of a structured system.

“I think Tottenham have been open to letting him go, so if Everton are interested then there will be a deal to be done. They’re not the only side interested in him, but he’s also not the only player they’ve been looking at.

“If they decide he’s the one they want, it’s a deal that could work out for everybody.”

Thomas Frank has dropped Yves Bissouma in Tottenham’s opening two Premier League games

Bissouma’s days are numbered at Tottenham

Bissouma found some rhythm at the back end of last season and was incredible in the UEFA Europa League final against Manchester United in Bilbao in May. But throughout his White Hart Lane career, he has proven to be undependable and inconsistent.

Summer signing on loan from Bayern Munich, Joao Palhinha has slotted into the defensive midfield position and performed very well against both Burnley and Man City. Rodrigo Bentancur has complemented Palhinha nicely in the middle of the park, with the duo impressing during last weekend’s 2-0 away win over Man City.

Bissouma’s indiscipline cost him under Ange and now Frank, and having entered the final year of his contract and no new terms being offered, the Malian’s days at our club are numbered. Let’s hope Everton come in with a decent offer and take away the midfielder to Merseyside.
