David Moyes is set to be the person who benefits most if Tomas Soucek arrives at Everton this summer.

Everton are hoping to land Soucek in the last few days of the summer window.

Jack Grealish made shockwaves at Everton upon arrival, and there is a desire for the midfielder to be the cherry on top.

Everton have made an advance to West Ham for Soucek, but are expected to try again before the end of the window. With his signing a real possibility, Goodison News assesses the winners and losers from his potential transfer.

Winners from Tomas Soucek’s potential transfer

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Keirnan Dewsbury-Hall joined Everton from Chelsea this summer and has slotted right into the midfield.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

The midfielder played well in Everton’s 2-0 win over Brighton and will welcome the addition of Soucek. Not only will he be getting extra help in the midfield, but Soucek is strong in the air.

As a result, Dewsbury-Hall will be happy to have a teammate who can convert the balls he puts into the box.

David Moyes

Soucek and Jarrod Bowen were the first players Moyes signed as West Ham coach.

The current Toffees coach had a long-standing admiration for the defensive midfielder. He is characterised as an energetic, box-to-box midfielder who is unafraid to stage interventions to shield the backline.

Known for his attacking and aerial threat, Moyes enjoyed working with Soucek. With Everton now pushing for his arrival, it is likely that Moyes is the brains behind the operation.

Losers from Tomas Soucek’s potential transfer

James Garner

James Garner stated Everton’s back-to-back Premier League fixtures at left back following several injuries.

But with Adam Aznou tipped to return to Everton by the end of the month and Vitalii Mykolenko on the mend, Garner should soon return to the midfield.

However, he may find his spot already taken if Soucek lands at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. As such, he may not be overly concerned if this transfer does not happen.

Tim Iroegbunam

Tim Iroegbunam signed for Everton from Aston Villa in 2024 for a fee of around £9million.

He has since impressed current manager Moyes enough to start for the Toffees in both their Premier League games. This comes after struggling to receive constant minutes last season.

However, as Soucek also plays in the defensive midfield, Iroegbunam could be forced to accept a rotational role once more if he arrives. Therefore, the Englishman will be hoping he’s done enough for Moyes to cling onto his starting spot.
