Man Utd fans name clear-cut Man of the Match pick vs Fulham, two players stood right out

Manchester United fans have now picked one show-stealing Red Devils talent as the standout Man of the Match performer against Fulham on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils failed to take the lead in the first half at Craven Cottage on the weekend after Bruno Fernandes produced a woeful finish from the spot-kick.

Following Bruno Fernandes’ missed penalty in the Premier League clash, Manchester United and Fulham went into the break with a 0-0 scoreline on the board.

However, United would seize the advantage over Fulham in the second half after a major deflection from Rodrigo Muniz following a headed effort from Leny Yoro.

Bryan Mbeumo whipped a cross in from a corner and Leny Yoro’s attempt benefited from the ball ricocheting off Rodrigo Muniz before beating Fulham’s Bernd Leno.

Bryan Mbeumo came a distant third in the polling from United fans, with the former Brentford star only securing seven per cent of the vote for his performance.

Matheus Cunha was lively in the first half and came close to scoring for United, but the ex-Wolves ace’s influence tailed off as the Fulham match progressed.

But the United signing’s strong showing earned him second place in the candidates for Man of the Match, with Matheus Cunha receiving 28 per cent of the vote.

Leny Yoro, on the other hand, came out as the clear favourite for United fans after his display, with the defender sealing 38 per cent of the vote for his superb showing.

Ruben Amorim sends a message to Man Utd players after the Fulham match at Craven Cottage

Manchester United suffered a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in their opening Premier League match of the season before picking up their first point of the campaign on Sunday.

The Red Devils will switch their focus away from the Premier League during the midweek with the start of the 2025-26 Carabao Cup run for the Red Devils.

Ruben Amorim insisted that United players must fully focus on their forthcoming encounter with Grimsby Town in the second round of the Carabao Cup competition.

“The way we play, we are going to change because we need to look at the opponent to understand what we need to do to win the game,” he said after the Fulham result, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“We want to win. We know that in these kinds of games in the cups, anything is possible. So, we need to win, we want to win.”

United will meet League Two side Grimsby Town on Wednesday evening at Blundell Park, with kick-off for the Carabao Cup tie slated for 8pm UK time.
