Liam Rosenior sends clear message to Chelsea owners after Kendry Paez's first start for Strasbourg

It has not taken long for Chelsea youngster Kendry Paez to make a good impression on Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior.

Paez joined Strasbourg on loan from Chelsea at the end of July and made his first start for the club on Sunday.

Strasbourg beat Nantes 1-0, and Paez impressed while on the pitch as the attacker made his full debut for the French side.

Following the game, Rosenior had a lot of praise for Paez, who is still just 18 years of age.

Liam Rosenior tells Chelsea they have ‘ultra-talented player’ in Kendry Paez

With Estevao Willian already shining at Chelsea, some have perhaps already forgotten about Paez.

Rosenior has let BlueCo know, though, that Paez is also another extremely-gifted footballer that they have on their books.

Speaking about Strasbourg’s victory over Nantes, the 41-year-old said: “Kendry is a kid who has a gift. He’s an ultra-talented player who adapted quickly. But what I want to highlight is the way he’s adapted to the group and the way he works to be at the level. He has a remarkable attitude.”

Paez’s desire was to remain at Chelsea, but the club clearly felt that spending a season at Strasbourg would be better for his development.

At Chelsea, the Ecuadorian would have found it difficult to break into Enzo Maresca’s starting XI.

As well as Estevao, the Blues also have Cole Palmer and Pedro Neto. Neto has been in great form of late, too, scoring in his side’s 5-1 win against West Ham United last Friday.

Ultimately, it would have been difficult for Paez to dislodge him, Palmer or Joao Pedro, who started in the No.10 position at the London Stadium.

What Chelsea fans are saying about Kendry Paez after first Strasbourg start

Paez also made a good impression on Chelsea supporters following his full debut for Strasbourg.

Like Rosenior, Chelsea fans think Paez is a real talent and are looking forward to seeing more of him in the future.

Hopefully, that means actually watching the Ecuador international play at Stamford Bridge. But given Chelsea’s new model and their current attacking options, you just never know.

They could also add to their forward line before the transfer window closes amid interest in Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons.
