Man Utd in'advanced'negotiations with Euro club over conditions of attacker exit

Manchester United are in 'advanced negotiations' with Serie A club Napoli over the potential sale of Rasmus Hojlund.

The Denmark international has failed to make an impact at Old Trafford since moving from Atalanta BC two years ago, and could be set to depart.

Hojlund scored 16 goals in all competitions in his first season at the Theatre of Dreams, but found the net only four times across 32 games in the Premier League last season.

The former Atalanta striker wants to stay and fight for his place, but he has fallen out of favour under Ruben Amorin, following the arrivals of Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko.

Serie A giants AC Milan have been reportedly linked with a move for the 22-year-old striker, but Napoli could be his next destination.

According to Ben Jacobs, Napoli are in 'advanced' talks with the Red Devils over signing the Danish striker, who has scored 26 goals in 95 appearances.

The Serie A champions want to sign him on loan with a conditional obligation worth almost £40m, and they will also pay a loan fee to get the deal done swiftly.

It has been reported that the Italian champions have already held positive discussions with the player's camp about personal terms and their long-term project.

Napoli signed Scott McTominay from United last summer, and he proved to be a major success. According to a report from Corriere dello Sport, McTominay is doing all he can to convince the striker to move to Italy once again.

Hojlund could be another smart signing for Napoli

It appears that Hojlund's time at United is coming to an end, but he could make the Red Devils regret their decision later by recapturing his old goalscoring form.

Napoli need a quality number nine following the news that Romelu Lukaku could be out for four months with a thigh injury.

Hojlund scored nine goals and provided four assists in 32 league appearances during his time at Atalanta, and he has the quality to step up in Lukaku's absence.
