Terry McLaurin has faced a tough offseason. The former Ohio State wide receiver has been seeking a new contract from the Washington Commanders and has taken various actions to push for a deal, including sitting out OTAs, speaking publicly about his frustration, requesting a trade and attending preseason practice but not participating.
All of that finally paid off on Monday when McLaurin received his new deal. According to multiple reports, McLaurin agreed to a three-year, $96 million extension with the Commanders, ending any rumors that he might leave the team this year and paving the way for the wide receiver to be on the field when the 2025 season starts early next month.
McLaurin is about to start his sixth NFL season with Washington after the team picked him in the third round (No. 76 overall) in the 2019 NFL Draft. He signed a $68 million extension in 2022 but was set to enter the final year of that contract in 2025.
