The Denver Broncos, their players and the other 31 teams and their players now face the most dreaded moment of the football calendar: the cut to 53 players.
In advance of the 2 p.m. MDT roster deadline Tuesday, the Broncos began making their roster moves Sunday afternoon.
Denver can place two players on injured reserve with a designation to return, a change from previous years, when teams had to keep players on the 53-man roster for a day before moving them to injured reserve in order to recall them during the regular season.
Linebacker Drew Sanders is a candidate for such a move after undergoing foot surgery following an injury suffered on the second day of training camp.
