'Bring the noise': Newcastle United issue rallying cry to fans ahead of huge grudge match…

· 25 August 2025, 18:00

**It's only the second game of the new season, and it already feels like we're going into the biggest game of it. Newcastle United versus Liverpool under the lights at St James' Park. It's always an intense fixture, but there's more added spice than a vindaloo thanks to the Alexander Isak element.**

Newcastle fans don't need any hyping up for this one; the atmosphere has been brewing for weeks now, and the Geordies are fired up to make their voices heard.

However, just in case there was any doubt about how much this game means, the club have posted a video to social media today that's sure to get the goosebumps raised on all members of the Toon Army.

Some have even interpreted the video as a message to Alexander Isak. Bit of a stretch, but if it helps to stoke the fires, we're all for it.

An electric atmosphere and a strong performance can send a powerful message to Isak tonight

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nothing could send a bigger message to Isak than a win tonight, combined with an electric atmosphere that intimidates and terrifies the Liverpool team.

Showing the raw power of the Toon Army and roaring the team to victory will show Isak that Newcastle aren't shrinking violets and can compete with the 'big boys'.

Whether it would be enough to convince him that he doesn't need to move to realise his dreams is another matter entirely.

Isak's name is going to be mentioned once or twice tonight

----------------------------------------------------------

It also really depends on what the fans say about Isak throughout the match. Last week, the Isak protests were saved for after the full-time whistle, but at home with Liverpool as the opposition, and their fans likely singing about him, it could be very different tonight.

As it looks like Isak will stay, it may not be a great idea to antagonise him, as it looks like he could be our only option up front this season, and, while we'd all prefer he just moved on at this point, there's no denying that we'll need him.

That being said, we're not by any means suggesting we should just forgive and forget the second he returns to training. He has to earn that right to play again, something we know Eddie Howe will be telling him, too.
