Pittsburgh Steelers lose another wide receiver target

New England Patriots wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk, who could have been a potential Pittsburgh Steelers trade target, is out for the season with a shoulder injury, according to Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports.

Polk was the team’s second round pick out of Washington last year, and suffered a shoulder issue at some point during training camp that will require surgery. However, even before he was injured, it appeared that Polk was likely to be on the outside looking in for on that wide receiver room.

Polk had just 12 receptions for 87 yards and two touchdowns. The Steelers are said to be looking for wide receiver help, but they have a clear top five that should make the team.

He had an impressive career at Washington over four years, 1159 receiving yards in his senior season with Michael Penix as his quarterback. Polk played next to Jalen McMillan and Rome Odunze, who both were drafted in the same draft as him and impressed.

Now, the focus will be on other players for the Steelers, and for Polk to get healthy as he tries to rebound next year.
