Manchester United showed signs of progress against Arsenal in their first match of the Premier League. They regressed against Fulham in their second. There were a couple of good individual performances from Leny Yoro and Matheus Cunha but once again United looked disjointed and disillusioned as they ran out of ideas under Ruben Amorim.
The lack of goals continues to be an issue, though Amorim is adamant they will come once his £200 million forward line settle into their new surroundings. Things are less sure in central midfield though, where there doesn't appear to be any obvious answer to their struggles.
Bruno Fernandes has struggled in his change of role and Kobbie Mainoo has been completely overlooked during the first two matches of the campaign. United will be a better side if they get the most out of those two and here is a look at the line up they could use to make it happen.
