The Sacramento Kings have considered trading guard Malik Monk this offseason, but according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line, no active discussions about a deal are happening at the moment.

That doesn't guarantee Monk will stay in Sacramento for the full 2025–26 season—or even make it to opening night—but he has earned praise off the court as well as on it, thanks to his professionalism and willingness to embrace his role within the team.
Although the Kings remain interested in bringing in Russell Westbrook and have weighed the idea of moving Monk to free up a backcourt spot, Stein reports that the front office is also exploring alternative ways to make room for Westbrook without trading Monk.
Sacramento plans to sign Westbrook and use him as the team's sixth man, backing up new addition Dennis Schroder.
Monk is set to earn $18.8 million next season. Last year, he played 65 games (45 starts) for Sacramento, averaging 17.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 5.6 assists.
