Fabrizio Romano expects Chelsea to finalise a deal for this Premier League target before the transfer deadline.

Fabrizio Romano expects to make one of his famous ‘here we go’ announcements this week as Chelsea close in on their latest signing of the summer.

The transfer window is now into its final week and clubs are scrambling to complete last-minute deals. The Blues have been busy on the market this year with both signings and sales. They have put significant effort into bolstering their attack and are still looking to bring in another new face to stack the front three.

Chelsea have got their eye on Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho and a new update from Romano suggests a deal will be finalised this week, just in time before the deadline.

Chelsea ‘expect’ to sign Alejandro Garnacho this week

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano has reported that Chelsea ‘100 percent expect’ to reach an agreement for Garnacho this week.

“I fully think we’ll have a ‘here we go’ this week for Alejandro Garnacho, for sure, he is expected to become a Chelsea player,” the transfer expert said.

“This is the message coming very strong to the player from Chelsea, the player feels that in the end, this deal will happen. Garnacho is very optimistic of this Chelsea move, he turned down many opportunities in Italy, Saudi, Germany and also the Premier League, he wants to go to Chelsea.”

Romano did not mention a fee but a report earlier this month claimed United are seeking £50 million before they let Garnacho leave Old Trafford. The Argentinian has been heavily linked with an exit for a while now as United restructure their team following a disappointing Premier League season.

Tyrique George ‘not part’ of Alejandro Garnacho deal

Chelsea have reportedly been reluctant to offer the full £50 million for Garnacho, with recent updates claiming they value him closer to the £30 million mark.

The Blues had suggested including Tyrique George as part of the deal to negotiate the fee down but Romano reports that this is no longer part of Chelsea’s plan.

“There were some rumours of the possibility to include Tyrique George as part of the conversation between Manchester United and Chelsea. But this option was already stopped a few weeks ago, so at the moment Tyrique George is not part of those conversations at least as of now.

“But I wanted to underline the importance of this Garnacho story because Garnacho is expected to become a Chelsea player by the end of the window.”

Instead, George could be headed abroad as AS Roma have now registered interest in his signature. Romano provided another update on the winger last weekend, taking to social media with the information that the Italian powerhouses have been asking about deal conditions, having made initial contact in July.

“He’s one of the options at left wing, if Jadon Sancho keeps not opening the doors to the move. Chelsea winger on Roma shortlist as also RB Leipzig and Premier League clubs are still very keen,” the transfer expert wrote.
