Guerschon Yabusele describes his fit with the New York Knicks

The New York Knicks made a notable addition to their second unit when they brought in Guerschon Yabusele in free agency. Recently, Yabusele revealed what stood out the most to him about the Knicks.

In a recent interview with [BasketNews](https://basketnews.com/news-229910-dying-for-the-ball-yabusele-talks-france-dreams-knicks-future-nba-redemption.html), Yabusele described how the team’s identity fits his own play style.

“You can tell that they have a special bonding between each other,” Yabusele said. “When they go on the court together, it's like they try to kill the other team. They know each other pretty well. They made it so far this year in the playoffs, but year after year, you can just see their progress.”

“So, for me, it was just natural, because I wanted to be part of this,” he added. “It's one of the toughest crowds, people know it. So, to be able to go there and be part of this is just something special.”

Yabusele should have an immediate impact for the Knicks

Last season, the Knicks had one of their best seasons in quite some time, winning 51 games, and advancing all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000. Despite that, the Knicks’ bench unit was one of the worst in the NBA, finishing last in points per game, and total points off the bench. Bringing in Yabusele should help remedy that issue.

After spending five years away from the NBA, Yabusele enjoyed a career season with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2024-25, averaging 11.0 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in 70 appearances.
